Getting caught up on some projects August 2010 - Jan 2011

So these past 6 months have been crazy for me and I really need to update my blog with all of the fun things I have made. Let's start back with the original taggy blanket I made.

This blanket was made for my niece Emy who is now almost 1 years old. I cannot believe it has been almost a year since she was born! Once my sister-in-law Gina saw this sweet little blanket I made she asked me to make one for her other sister-in-law who just had a baby boy named Liam. Here is the blanket I made for him!

After making some small taggy blankets I decided to try one bigger one with the same fabric all on one side and two minke fabrics on the other. This is what I came up with:

I have to say that I wasn't as happy with this one as the first two I made which is probably why this blanket is still sitting in my crafting room and I have yet to give it to someone. Who knows though...maybe I could use it as a giveaway sometime! Who doesn't love free things?

Moving away from the blankets I decided to try some applique onesies. I turned to my friend Lindsay for directions on how to make some since she had already made done some in the past. With her help and the help of a tutorial I found from Crap I've Made (here tutorial was on onesie ties which I will show further down but for now you can find her tutorial here) this is what I came up with:

Isn't my niece SO adorable in this?

After I made this one, I decided to try one out for Halloween. This is what I made for again, my niece Emy:

Again, how cute is she??

The last type of onesies I tried appliquing were with ties. This is where I fully used the tutorial from Crap I've Made. I made two tie onesies for little Liam and three onesies for my friend Nicole's baby Gavin!

Moving on from onesies I decided to try and conquer one other thing....burp cloths. I found that these were actually SO easy to make. Following a tutorial I found from Homemade by Jill (which you can find here) these are the girl and boy burp cloths I made.

And here is baby GQ (Gavin Quinn) sleeping so soundly on one of the burp cloths I made him!

WHEW!! I think I am finally caught up on what I have made up until November/December! Those projects to come later in another post!
