2011 has been a wild and crazy year! I had just graduated from Columbia with my Bachelor's degree in December 2010 and was looking forward to what the next year was going to bring. My friend Ketley had invited me last minute to go to Vegas with her and it was a nice graduation present to myself that I needed.

While we were in Vegas Ketley decided to get her first ever tattoo. What an experience that was!

We were only there a couple of days but staying at the Bellagio in Vegas was a great getaway to a much needed vacation!

In April my Husband and I adopted our first dog Slink.

No one could ever understand how much love this little puppy would bring to my life. Despite the rough road we have had with potty training I always could forget his sad puppy face that he gives me. Love him so much!
Looking towards May I was still working in the Patient Registration department at Delnor. I knew my time there was eventually coming to an end and was very VERY fortunate that my friend Carrie helped me get a job where she worked. Saying goodbye to the health care field was pretty hard but I knew it was the right choice. 5 years at Delnor and a ton of great friends later, I knew it was time to leave. I joined Richardson RFPD on May 16th in the Customer Service Department. What could be better than a Monday through Friday Job that did not require me to work weekends or holidays and came with a pay raise? I'd have to say it was a good move on my part!
In June, my Husband along with our friends Heather and Mike and their friends Kasey and Casey headed to Wisconsin Dells for a couple's weekend. We stayed at Heather's family's house and only had to pay $100 per couple for 3 nights and 4 days. We walked the strip, went to the festival that was going on that weekend, hopped on a boat and went on a cruise tour of the river, played miniature golf, visited Mt. Olympus park, ate some really good food, and had an incredible time relaxing and hanging out with good friends.

The next thing we had planned for the summer was to babysit our niece and nephew. We love taking them 1 or 2 times a year and spoiling them rotten with fun activities throughout the weekend. This time our big thing to do was to visit the DuPage Children's Museum. The kids had a great time and it was a fun filled weekend for all.

July brought on the Holidays and we celebrated at my Uncle's house for the 2nd year in a row. The kids had fun hanging in the pool along with the water balloon toss that everyone participated in.

Night time is filled with blowing off all the fireworks that my cousins buy. This is a big thing for them every year and they truly enjoy every second of it. The 4th at my Uncle's house was full of good food and fun times hanging out with my family. I truly enjoy the times we have together and am looking forward to next year (just praying that there will be a next year, more on that later on).
Stay tuned tomorrow for Part II on my reflection of 2011!
