Day 10 - A Beach Robe For Eli

A couple of months ago I stumbled across one of my favorite websites in which Dana (the blogger of Made) had made up her own pattern for a beach robe.  She had a couple of other fellow bloggers try out the pattern before she sold it and after reading their reviews I decided that I needed it too!  I purchased this pattern from her and it arrived in my email in a nice PDF format in which 3 different sizes were included!  I have the choice to make a 9-18 months size, an 18 months to 3T size and a 3T to 4T.  The pattern also allows you to make long sleeve or short sleeve as well as the option of a hood or no hood.  There are so many different ways to make a robe it seems to be endless!

Being the somewhat un-crafty person I am I called up my friend Lindsay and asked if I could come over so we could work on it together!  I printed off the pattern in all three sizes and we went to work.  She made a robe for Eli and I made one for my Niece.  I feel that Lindsay finished her robe in no time and completely understood the pattern while I still feel a little confused on some parts.  I never actually did finish that robe for my niece but I do need to so I can give it to her for her birthday (it was supposed to be a Christmas present for her but you know how that goes….).  Once finished Lindsay added her own touch and put Eli’s name on it.  We grabbed our little model and had a little photo shoot with him!  What a cutie if I say so myself!

(Sorry for stealing your pictures again Lindsay! I promise I am not that bad of a Facebook stalker.  lol).

Once complete Lindsay blogged about the robe on her blog which can be found here.  She got together with one of her High School friends a couple of weeks later and made another one for her friends baby.  You can find those pictures on her blog post here.

Thanks for your help making the robe Lindsay!  I promise to finish the one I am making my Niece and blog about it sometime!  I literally only have 2 more steps to complete!

By the way, I would not recommend this pattern for a beginner sewer!  Just an FYI!
